Recruiting and jobs in social media

On Thursday I will moderate two panels on topics related to the world of work and social media. First, from 12.30 to 13.30, we will discuss the question How Social Media Changed Recruitment.

With executives from Nokia and Deutsche Bahn

I invited exciting guests to the panel “How Social Media Changed Recruitment”: Robindro Ullah, Head of Personnel Marketing and Recruiting South at Deutsche Bahn, Alex Oberberg, Marketing Manager Social Media for Nokia in London, Michaela Esswein, Headhunter for IT/Media/E-Commerce at KEAL Consulting and Katharina Daniels, author and expert in organizational and personnel development.

Application strategies and change processes

For 60 minutes, with lively audience participation, we discuss the question of how social media is changing companies, how the optimal application strategies in Facebook, Twitter and Co. look at what Recruiter in social networks pay attention (keyword Candidate to Google!).

In addition, which conditions and culture of action in companies must prevail at all, so that the changes, which brings social media, at all by all can be supported and function, an aspect which in many enterprises, which likes to speak of Leitkulturen, rather neglected.

Insights instead of advertising messages

A good example that social media should be more for companies than just Facebook Robindro Ullah was there to be and flatly proclaiming again and again how great the company is.

Without going into too much detail, of course, he gave an open and honest look behind the scenes of his company and thus created an understanding of the needs and Problemsthat a large company struggles with on social media.

Positive feedback for committed brand ambassadors

For that he got a lot of positive feedback not only via Twitter Feedback:

I don't want any of that Advertising do for Deutsche Bahn – whoever gets the best of HR - Berufebilder.de® reads regularly, knows that I am also critical of this company from time to time.

If you are not in Google, do not you exist?

But Alex Oberberg has also said some interesting things, such as the question of what happens if you are not found on Google.

Alex says the phrase “If you are not in Google, you do not exist” is pretty blatant - he argued for a more relaxed approach to your own Googlebilety: “There are also people who are not so extroverted.” (Minute 39.15)

Transparency is the best marketing

Both examples show once again that committed Employees are still the best brand ambassadors for companies.

And that transparency and a relaxed approach to social media achieve the best marketing effect for companies. So, dear companies, instead of driving expensive campaigns, simply hire better employees invest.

How do companies use recruiting and social media

Because companies and recruiters are increasingly relying on Facebook, Twitter, Xing and blogs, on the one hand to actively search for qualified employees on the one hand, but also to get to know future employees better in advance than with a traditional one, on the other hand Application via Write to/Curriculum vitae it is possible.

At the same time, this also makes the communication behavior of companies more open and applicants have the opportunity to get in touch at an early stage I aufmerksam and to enter into dialogue with potential employers and employees of the company.

We worked out how much social media has changed classic recruiting, which current trends there are in social media recruiting, but also which change processes in a company act must, so that this open dialogue via social media can function at all.

How does social media change the world of work?
