For the study, Universum asked more than 5000 young professionals with an academic background in Germany according to their "ideal employers", their career goals, their job satisfaction, their willingness to change jobs and other related topics Job and career questions.

The result: Properties that relate to the two subject areas “salary and career opportunities” and “content and requirements of the job” are particularly important drivers of the attractiveness of an employer: At the top of the wish list for companies is an attractive basic salary, followed by diverse work tasks and secure employment.

The least important thing for young people is whether minorities are accepted, whether a company only recruits the best, and also fast growth is of no interest to them. A balance between work and private life has been the most important career goal for young professionals for many years, followed by a desire for job security. The young talents are also looking for the intellectual challenge and leadership responsibility in the job.
