In order to find out what characteristics make an attractive employer, Universum has broken down the drivers of employer attractiveness into four subject areas that relate to the reputation and image of the employer, to content and requirements of the job, to the social environment and the characteristics of the workplace, and to the salary and opportunities for advancement.

Respondents were asked to select all of the appropriate properties for the companies they previously selected as “ideal employers”. The question wording was: "Which of the following qualities do you associate with the individual employers?"

Top driver of employer tract

The result: Properties that relate to the two subject areas “salary and career opportunities” and “content and requirements of the job” are particularly important drivers of the attractiveness of an employer: At the top of the wish list for companies is an attractive basic salary, followed by diverse work tasks and secure employment.
