We recently wrote about an engineer who drew attention to his deadlocked job situation with a creative and ironic mash-up. An example of creative Job Search? Probably not, says Svenja Hofert.
I asked the question on Twitter: Can a creative expression of displeasure also be a creative job hunt? No, my career specialist Svenja Hofert, because the basic attitude of the applicant is to negative. But is it that easy to say?
Svenja Hofert gave me hers right away Opinions tweeted back: “By far crossing the line of good taste. It is ... with me clear, why he can't find anything - aggressive basic attitude;-)" - and then submitted a blog post in which she asks: Why are some people just not successfully? It says:
I find his Idea but not as fun and creative. And I see the way it's edited, too, why that Boy man with his other documents did not come to a successful conclusion...
But an industrial engineer can definitely get a job even with a three before the decimal point. If it still doesn't work, it's often because of the lack of internships or suspicious certificates Personality and exaggerated ideas.
Hofert mentions various reasons, which, according to my experience, are surprisingly often connected:
It is precisely this last point that gives me food for thought. Is it that easy to do with that, everyone Candidate to make good salespeople? Nobody is really good at everything; I read somewhere that there are types of salespeople who primarily impress with their communication skills – and inventors who tend to tinker around in a more introverted way.
Go one Company Aren't these brilliant minds lost if you let yourself be dazzled by the self-portrayal of the individual? And is it desirable that only those people advance in terms of career who do well merchandise be able?
That reminds me of a blog post I posted on the topic HR, who prefer to be fooled, sometimes wrote – and for whom it is a lot awareness gave.
Only Seller: Of course, that's a little exaggerated - but when I look around sometimes, I get the impression that it's more and more about selling. Many a careerist seems to see things the same way and change horses – like these examples Spiegel Online demonstrate.
Or is it true that in the end, seen in the long term, good ones Performance and humanity interspersed? Are there any long-term studies on this frequently propagated hope for justice?
And do not companies lose exactly those good, clever heads because they just look for adaptability and good selling?
This is supported, for example, by the fact that some of the engineers who are desperately unable to get a job in Germany have relative jobs abroad (Sweden or Switzerland). fast found something (just read through this comment).
A while back I wrote about “Lie with the Career Factor Intelligence” made a blog post. And it also quotes Jochen Mai, who says: "The more vehemently I claim something, the more successful I am". Or to put it another way: The more I'm convinced of my own nonsense and don't question it critically...
Because intelligent people with brilliant ideas are more often the more critical and therefore also more self-critical. And that's exactly why they don't do well merchandise can.
Or is it a myth, because supposed geniuses are knocking themselves out in a fit of overconfidence because they cover up their inability to respond to other people? After all, good selling is less about persuading than communicating ...
Doesn't that show that such people are ultimately dealing with psychological defects and neuroses, even downright pathological cases, as a human resources manager pointed out to me in the course of the discussion about the shortage of skilled workers Hand said?
Only: Maybe here too we have to dig deeper into the causes. Because maybe these are not individual ailments, but social symptoms, as well Coach Markus Väth has criticized in another context. Maybe people aren't just themselves Debt, but those Education or Education.
In any case, a message from the German Association for Educational and Vocational Counseling knows that careers often have something to do with equal opportunities. Only then to call for politics again in the end ... The committed approach of Lecturer Diana Bridde, to make missing teaching works simply myself, I like it already better!

Hello victim,
Well, I'm happy that I made you laugh!
As you can see, I also have very little time, I can't even reply to comments.
However, there is a new book that should speak to you from the soul: Lies with numbers by Gerd Bosbach. And next week there will also be an appointment:
Just come over!
Fittingly, I was on a counter appointment the day before and will then report on it. By the way, just a moment ago I also wrote a small rant on the subject:
Much fun yet

Funny article. Unfortunately not so funny topic!
Sorry Ninalein, you are two new rounds of news about engineers and a shortage of skilled workers. In the meantime, “it” has been established that there is no such thing as a shortage and that it NEVER WILL BE (keyword: the ridiculous number of 2 million missing, mainly engineers) and that there is a “shortage” of “suitable” engineers. A bit like that.
What the “keyword” analysis in the link you have given me is not supposed to tell me. The VDI is an employer body whose sole aim is to lower wages.
I have 3 jobs in the Projektwerk database - which I know a lot about! - clicked: 3 times “We are looking for a developer for our customer” = an engineer ”service provider” is looking for a “freelancer” for temporary employment. Is that supposed to be a joke? How about we switch grandma, grandpa, 3 banks, the EU, the Vatican, the post office, RTL and Greenland between the “customers” and the “freelancers”. That is massively dubious and ridiculous. I can imagine what that financially sticks with the “freelancer”, because the meat saleswoman earns well on the other hand.
I said it before and I'll repeat it again: the engineering profession was killed, is dead. Those who torment themselves today among the mass of freshmen to graduate will not even end up as temporary workers ...
Hello Ninalein, I know again about the study on the subject that says the opposite of your statement:
Due to the shortage of skilled workers, engineers should now have a very good chance of getting adequate jobs, because they are desperately sought after - the resulting shortage of skilled workers can even act as a brake on economic growth. You can read why and why here:
