Recently, some interesting ideas have emerged in the career industry: colorful CVs, job videos or some new networks. An overview.
A few weeks ago we got up Best of HR – Berufebilder.de® very detailed the Curriculum vitae by New York social media consultant Hagan Blount. Personally, I was rather skeptical, but most of my readers were Idea very pleased. Now this could really become a trend - a new start-up makes it possible!
For Svenja Hofert, the journey is complete clear in the direction of upbeat and colorful instead of rigid text modules with boring images on the cover sheet. I'm a little more cautious: The personnel scene in Germany in particular is still very conservative.
And not only that: in many Companies will Candidate-Data entered into standardized applicant management systems so that you can access them again later if necessary. It is rather questionable whether upbeat and colorful CVs are so well received.
And while it was noted in the discussion about Hagan that such a nice colorful CV is difficult draw up be, is now the Solution close - namely in the form of Visualize.Me! The fledgling startup took first place at Toronto's Startup Weekend in June, racking up 12 views and 10,000 sign-ups in the first 1000 hours of its existence.
Apparently that sets Boy In doing so, companies rely on the Google+ effect: to surround themselves with a touch of the mysterious. You will only receive an invitation if you win other users who also register via a specially sent link.
The real highlight, however, is that the colorful CVs can be automatically generated from the Linkedin profile. This possibility could in turn give Linkedin in Germany the breakthrough - according to the motto: Why make even the effort of resume writing, even if it is such a way automatically just a mouse click?
But even more: perhaps this type of automatic generation would be interesting for companies. Because perhaps automated CVs can then be incorporated into applicant management systems again in a kind of back-generation - and then both sides profit from this efficiency gain?
Sure, that's a big step ... but I think the idea really has potential, provided it is implemented correctly. What do you think: crazy idea or realistic dreams of the future?
But maybe this idea is good for a real long-running hit? The advertising and trade fair agency Barlag is trying to establish a new video format with JobmessenTV (see above!) Meine Opinions on that – today it’s all about job fairs TV.
Since 2004 the Barlag agency from Osnabrück has been organizing the jobmesse® deutschland tour with the Objective, a recruiting event for all generations and qualifications to accomplish. According to Barlag, more than 3.250 exhibiting companies and more than 580.000 visitors (as of 06/2011) have been involved so far.
Since May, a video format has been launched: JobmessenTV accompanies the trade fairs and provides comprehensive information on topics relating to jobs and careers.
The focus of the monthly programs are current job offers, news about Working world, application tips from professionals, curious legal cases, the latest trade fair dates and much more. Interactive links in the show lead to further topics behind the show.
A nice format with a lot of useful information - and a small catch: the emphasized infotainmentCharacter! Apparently, the creators have oriented themselves to other, successful formats and are now trying to copy them - more badly than right.
For example, the emphasis in the moderation of the young lady in one of the videos strongly reminds me of the electric reporter of Mario Sixtus. Maybe you should not copy this very individual way of speaking.
And this video in comedyStyle strongly reminiscent of the ZDF Today show. The idea is good. Here, too, the crux of the matter is individual moderation.
It's a shame that people try to jump on the bandwagon and be hip at all costs. Otherwise: Good, imaginative ideas. Even more Courage to your own style, then the format could definitely become a long-running favorite.
