Multitasking is in demand like never before. But what does it actually do? Nothing more than exhaustion and ineffectiveness. Whoever mutlitas makes a fool of himself.
As the Executive seinen Employees Found stoned at his desk, he praised him for his hard work and shoved another joint into his mouth Hand. Unbelievable? Not quite! A study at London's King's College wanted to find out how constant checking of e-mail affects the intelligence quotient.
One group was intoxicated with marijuana, the other with emails. The result: the stoners kept the clearer one Head and the higher IQ.i If the boss praises his employee for quick emails, possibly by email, he keeps him on digital drugs.
The Term Multitasking is inhuman: it comes from computer language and describes the ability of an operating system to run several at the same time Tasks to manage something.
Each of these processes access the central brain of the computer, the main processor. This distributes the capacities. But the processes only seem to take place at the same time: They happen one after the other in a flash.
And if you activate too many processes on the computer, you will feel it: Then the computer is stuck. And we say, again humanizing: "The computer has hung up!" First aid is provided by the Windows Task Manager, for example, which cancels individual processes to create capacity for others.
The human Brain can also only work on one process at the same time, only have one thought. Its capacity always remains the same even if someone starts many processes.
Human concentration is like a hose from which a certain amount of water flows: not a drop is lost as long as the hose is directed towards just one bucket. The bucket fills up fast.
But what happens if you want to distribute the water to several buckets at the same time? Each time the tubing changes the bucket, water passes - a loss of spreading. And it takes much longer for the individual buckets to become full; after all, everyone gets only a fraction of the original amount.
When we switch from one task to the next, from emailing to telephoning, from texting to conferencing, concentration is lost like water between buckets.
The more often the concentration hose changes the work vessel, the less is left for the individual process. The result: We get less and less baked and we get more and more stupid. Therefore, multitasking is not efficient at all; on the contrary, it always makes you dumber.

I have given up multitasking, it is not possible to concentrate on more than one “thing” at the same time. Latvia always suffers from one thing. Very few admit to it. We always have to do one thing and that is BREATHING. And I can only do one task / thing right if I can fully concentrate on it. I can't cook B. generate orders at the same time. Or be in a meeting and talk on the phone and do research on the Internet. All of this would be multitasking. This also affects the psyche in the long term. So forget about multitasking!
Dear Ms. Lang, you are absolutely right, it is best to only do one thing at a time, otherwise everything will go wrong.
Great contribution
