When it comes to family friendliness, Germany occupies a middle place in a European comparison. The Scandinavian countries offer the best conditions for parents and their children. This shows the family-friendliness index of the Institute of German Economy Cologne.
Personally, I would have thought that Germany is very far behind in European comparison. But of course, that always depends on what criteria such an index is created.
Probably the comparatively good placement depends on the financial support, the parents get here lied: That is really quite lush. The federal government therefore does not have to be compulsory, for example, with a child support allowance.
However, there is, and the index also shows that correctly clear, further need for action in the care infrastructure.
In Germany, a good 21 percent of under-threes are cared for in day-care centers or by childminders, while in Denmark the figure is over 70 percent. In my opinion, there is also a social one here rethink asked away from the raven mother complex.
In addition, young academics in Germany often lack time because the newly-bred parents want to get children and their careers together, but they are comparatively late.
Despite the pent-up demand in some areas, the trend for Germany is pointing in the right direction: The Federal Republic has improved, at least according to the index of the DIW, in family friendliness within five years of the second strongest of the examined 19 countries.
