Is Further Training the ultimate tool for transportation? Yes, at least when asking employees: Because according to a recent study, they are keen to develop their skills further. This is not really a surprise - the question of who should finance this would have been more exciting. Obviously the respondents see their employers as responsible.

The study is particularly exciting because it also reveals the cultural characteristics of Germans: Further Training yes, but it should please the Executive to take care of it. Just no initiative! And certainly not self-financed further training!

Also that Things to Learn experience shows that this is not so important, the German peculiarity manifests that in this country certificates and qualifications are more important than content.

Continuing education as a career springboard

In Germany, continuing education is seen above all as the pragmatic aspect of the career ladder: According to this, 22 is looking for a percentage of respondents specifically for opportunities for training or other training.

Another 35 percent are thinking about optimizing their knowledge and skills. Objective both groups is looking for new areas of work and Tasks zu to qualify.

Further education international

Internationally, too, the demand for further training offers is high, here the Germans are well within the average range. However, it is them at 61 percent clear more important than their international colleagues to develop within their company:

Only 42 in the world and 44 Prozent in Europe are pursuing the goal of developing new areas of work here. For this reason, the proportion of those who want to use additional qualifications primarily for their own business start-ups is much lower in 14 percent in Germany than in global ones - here it is a fifth.

What further training is required?

As a concrete form of further training, seminars are popular in Germany: A total of 63 percent prefer to attend a seminar offer. Internationally, 26 percent of respondents share this predilection.

Another difference: learning through experience does not seem to play as much of a role for German employees as it does for their colleagues in other countries. In Germany, for example, 58 percent believe that work experience is elementary Competencies to be developed, at least 70 percent think so internationally.

Soft skills important

'Soft skills' are also in demand apart from technical ones qualification and need further training Employees according to their own assessment, also social skills for a successful Career im Companys.

That is what matters most to them Teamwork and the ability to cooperate (79 percent), communication skills (73 percent), attention to detail (72 percent) and the assetsto actively listen (70 percent). Last but not least, 87 percent see a good knowledge of English as a prerequisite for the Success

Pious wishes to the boss

Many employees who want further training strive for new professional tasks in their company, see theirs Future i.e. with your current employer. From the employees' point of view, however, the boss could do even more than is currently the case:

When asked whether the existing offers were suitable for accelerating their own professional career in the company, 23 percent agreed in Germany. 26 percent had none Opinions and 36 percent even had a completely different view.

The whole survey - pointless?

For me, this is a sign that the whole survey could have been skipped: Of course, it's nice when the employees are willing to take part in further training. But why talk about further training at all if you end up lacking (own)Financing is not carried out? In Germany there are also state funds available for support.

No wonder, then, that the survey in Germany is in clear contrast to the international result: both worldwide and in Europe were over 50 percent satisfied only 14 percent were dissatisfied with the existing further training offers.
