What Significance have technological innovations for generations X, Y and Z? Which of them would you like? Workplace to use? In other words: What do younger and older generations expect from their employers in future in terms of technology?
Technological innovations are constantly changing ours Working world. Find out what that means for today and tomorrow Employees means was one of the focal points of the generations survey by the employer branding consultancy Universum.
In cooperation with the INSEAD Emerging Markets Institute, The HEAD Foundation and MIT Leadership Center, a total of 18.337 students and professionals in 19 countries were surveyed - from those who are already working in Generation X to those in Generation Y who are students and professionals to those before theirs career entry standing Generation Z. True to the title, they show that for most Companys there is still a lot to do.
In general, both present and future generations in the labor market have one positive attitude towards technological innovations. Globally, more than 80 percent of Generations X, Y and Z feel Technology as helpful. That meets that Private– and working life too. This view is generally highest among Generation Y professionals. In Germany, even 94 percent of them expect a positive Effect of technology to their personal job situation.
Generation Y professionals in the UK and Norway see it a little differently: you feel tend to be hampered by technology in the work environment. A similar view is held by Gen X respondents in these two countries, as well as Gen Z in Canada and the US.
Globally, 72 percent of Generation Y and Generation X workers are the Opinionsthat the digital offerings of companies are important. However, only 44 percent of working Generation Y and 40 percent of Generation X rate their employer's skills in this area as good.
Above-average, for example, Finnish companies are cutting well among generation Y workers: 66 percent already rate their digital capabilities as good. Future digital generations will also be important to companies. But what exactly is it?
Virtual reality (VR) is currently of little importance in the workplace: only 3 percent of the working respondents use VR in the professional environment. If current and future employees have their way, that will soon change. 37 percent of future employees would also like to use virtual reality at work. This means that VR ranks first worldwide when it comes to which technologies future employees would like to use on the job. Machines are just as important Things to Learn/Artificial Intelligence, wearable technologies as well as audio and video conferences. VR will also gain in importance in Germany. However, among German Gen Z respondents, audio and video conferencing tops the wish list. 44 percent would like to use it, and 35 percent value VR. Among Generation Y students, the figure is 29 percent. Project management tools are just as important to you.
The study provides surprising results on the subject of eLearning. The majority of respondents would attend an online course offered by the employer. Asked if they would rather attend a present or an online course, the vast majority opts for personal presence. The most popular onlineCourses are the Generation X - the oldest of the generations studied. Lack of time could be a reason here.
The results show that it is true for companies useful is to review all tools currently used for collaboration. A comparison with those that future employees use privately is also recommended. If new tools are introduced, they should not only be useful, but also light to integrate – and above all Fun . make
