Why we like people
Why do not we like people and others? In the immediate environment this can be explained by many things.
Above all, the unrecognizable sexual perfume plays a role, touch, appreciation, respected and perceived and much more. But with a politician that many never personally face (and in the nose)?
58% want Guttenberg back in politics
For his part, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg has many Error made. Errors, some of which could have legal consequences, and perhaps also political errors, which at least some see. Nevertheless now this survey result from TNS Emnid, published in Focus:
58 percent want to return to KT after a break Politics. That is more than the CDU and even the CSU have votes. The results by parties are astonishing: 82 percent of the Union is understandable. In the case of the “CSU opponent” FDP, however, it is even 92 percent, i.e. 10 percent more! And even with the SPD and the left the majority of 55 and 52 percent respectively.
The reasons
Even with the Greens it is still still 40 percent. The results were even better immediately after the resignation, even the Green Voters were at incredible 78 percent. The question is why. The answer is simple.
What does the ordinary voter get from a politician? Photos, short film recordings in news programs, occasionally a talk show appearance. And of course the opinions of journalists and "normal" people.
It depends on the perception of the pictures
In my opinion, the most important thing is the perception of images, films or photos. And Guttenberg scores like no other. His posture is perfect, his voice pleasant, he speaks eloquently and flawlessly, smiles, is always confident and humorous, perfectly dressed ... In short: there is nothing he can do wrong (except maybe that in certain situations his left hand is in his pocket migrates).
Here's an older video on the Kunduz Affair: It's a tough fight, and yet the Secretary of Defense retains the form, remains polite but determined, and pleasing in his body language.
Guttenberg vs. Westerwelle: A comparison!
For comparison, Guido Westerwelle, who has resigned from some offices. Almost everyone followed him. It seems as if all journalists and the majority of the population have conspired against him and almost found him the enemy of the nation. He got almost everything wrong.
Not politically, every politician has supporters and opponents of his content (however, very few deal with this content exactly). No, it was his body language and way of speaking: he yelled, twisting his face into an unfriendly grimace, almost slapping viewers' heads with one hand, making negative ones gestures and often showed us the mean finger of the high school teacher.
Haemic instead of friendly
Even when he smiled, it sometimes seemed malicious instead of friendly, because his mouth stays shut and widens, the corners of his mouth don't turn up. The result: he seems unsympathetic.
Emphasis on effect, because anyone who knows media people privately knows that the media image and reality often diverge. Since I only met Westerwelle briefly once, but didn't speak to him, I don't want to judge whether it was him or not.
Westerwelle lets BBC reporter flash
Here is the moment when Westerwelle is asked in English. The British reporter speaks German by the way, he was just stubborn or wanted to ask the question in English for his recording.
Goodbye Guido Westerwelle
Even in passages in which he says positive things, talks about himself and his term in office or wishes his successor all the best, the ex-foreign minister used a rather aggressive body language and voice.
So the one, KT, seems sympathetic, the other, Guido, has an unsympathetic effect - and they all take part. The media (even serious news!), The Stammtische, the people all over Germany, whether from the own or the opposing party.
Conversely, Unsympathetic
The consequences have then turned out accordingly: The unfriendly is made a huge number out of it when he (politically correct) and politely ask a British journalist to ask his question in German, he is pushed out of offices and finally dismantled by his own party.
Large or even minor errors, from all will be a reason to get rid of him. On the other hand, mistakes are made to the sympathetic, which are clearly contrary to the law. His medial dealing with the affair around his doctortitel was Obendrein anything but professional, etc. Nevertheless many want him again and show so that they forgive him and keep the fidelity.
With two dimensions
Incidentally, I think that both politicians have done a lot of good and also made one or the other mistake. What bothers me, however, is that double standards are used here. Although: it shows once again how important it is to work properly. It is not the content that counts, it is the person and his effect: rhetoric from choice of words to body language to voice and clothing.
It decides on the career. And that doesn't just apply to politicians. This doesn't just apply to top executives. Have you ever wondered whether you are more of the Guttenberg or the Westerwelle? Do you have easy support or do you have to use strength again and again to get your help? objectives to reach?
