Bits and Pretzels is a three day festival for Founders, those interested in starting a business and investors, which will take place in Munich from September 25th to 27th, 2016 – this year also with Kevin Spacey, Richard Branson and the jury from the “Lion’s Den”. And we are there too.

From the founder's breakfast to the festival

The story of Bits and Pretzels in September 2014 actually began modestly: As a cozy Weißwurst breakfast of the Munich start-up scene, initiated by Andreas Bruckschlögl and Dr.  Bernd Storm van's Gravesande.

The event quickly became known as the largest start-up breakfast in the world Welt known, which has already taken place twice in the Löwenbräukeller in Munich. At the third edition in September 2015, the two founders, together with Chairman Felix Haas, established a completely new event concept: Bits and Pretzels became a 3-day founders' festival filled with keynotes and discussions and a historic conclusion at the Oktoberfest on the last day of the event. 5000 participants are expected this year.

In 2016, the Bavarian State Minister for Economy and media, Energy and Technology and Deputy Prime Minister Ilse Aigner.

The sequence

On the first two days of the festival, visitors can expect keynotes and presentations from successful and influential founders from the digital world. There are also workshops and panel discussions. Objective the aim is to deliver a wide range of target group-specific content for all participants.

Especially Startups A balanced program is offered by the "Startup University" with specific lectures for founders in the initial phase and by a new format for the pitch competition: Hundreds of startups compete against each other on the pitch stage provided for this purpose on the first day.

The winner will be chosen at the end of the second day in the grand pitch finale on the main stage. To facilitate exchanges between participants, new  Networking Possibilities with the help of a networking tool as well Meeting Areas offered at the event including advance appointment allocation. This makes it possible to network with all participants and to arrange appointments with each other.

The third day will be held again this year with well-established networking Concept at the Oktoberfest: In advance, participants can choose which “table captain” they would like to sit with according to the “First Come - First Serve” principle.
