Hardly any other region is so closely associated with a fashionable lifestyle as the Côte d'Azur: celebrities and Hollywood stars come here Hand – and at corresponding events you can do the same for them.
The Monte Carlo Formula 1 Grand Prix always attracts car manufacturers such as Opel, Audi and VW Presentation their new models to Monaco. But apart from that, Monaco is an exciting location for Meetings and incentives of all kinds.
Monaco is a matter of taste: the rich and beautiful romp around in just 0,44 square kilometers Welt, annual events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Rolex Masters take place. At the same time, the lack of space means that there is comparatively dense development, one skyscraper is constantly being built before the next, blocking the beautiful view.
And yet there is always a touch of glamor and Hollywood around the principality - Grace Kelly sends her regards - and Germans too Companys like Opel, Audi or VW organize their product presentations here.
With more than 2000 events a year, the SBM Group is the largest MICE organizer on the Côte d'Azur and at the same time, with around 4000 employees, the largest employer in the Principality of Monaco, which is also the main shareholder of the SBM Group. Four hotels of 4 hotels with a total capacity of 705 rooms are available for meetings, as well as 40 conference rooms for up to 950 people:
The largest Monte Carlo Bay hotel and resort with 334 rooms is the only 4 star hotel, yet on a very high level, with an excellent restaurant and buffet breakfast. It is also the first point of contact for meeting requests due to its size. Great are the unobstructed sea views and the large garden of the resort with artificial lagoon, the interior design of the first 10 years old hotel looks a bit old-fashioned. Price example: Group up to 400 persons and pay from 175 EUR in single room per night and person with continental breakfast.
The hotel Hermitage, with a dome designed by Gustave Eiffel in the winter garden and 280 rooms, and the Hotel de Paris, a magnificent building from the year 1864 with 182 rooms just opposite the casino Monte Carlo, are five-star houses rather for higher demands. Price example: A group of up to 300 persons pays per person 195 Euro per night with continental breakfast.
I liked the little Monte Carlo Beach hotel, which is held in the charm of the 30 years. A nice location is the large pool area. Great is the restaurant Elsa, the only star restaurant with a Michelin star. Price example: groups up to 40 persons pay from 195 Euro per night in single room with continental breakfast.
The largest location is the Salle des Etoiles, the so-called Stars Hall, which is located three minutes on foot from the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel, right by the sea. It holds up to 950 persons. Both the window and the dome can be opened completely. The biggest event of the SBM Group took place here in November 2014:
The Pan-European Dealers Event for the launch of the new Corsa from Opel Germany with 3500 nights, 17 nights and 17 gala evenings in the car presentation show on stage.
Monte Carlo also has other great locations to offer, such as the Salon Bellevue in the Café de Paris or the beach along the lagoon of the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel, mostly with daylight, most with sea views and of course the most modern facilities and Technology.
Nice is one of the big travel discoveries of the year. For me, the city between the Mediterranean and the Alps contrasts opposites like no other - and is therefore also ideal for meetings with sporting activities.
Elton John's Villa stands above Nice and Madonna has been celebrating a glittering party here. Nice also offers an attractive location between mountains and more - perfect for meetings with all sorts of activities.
Nice of course has a convention center, the Acropolis with five auditoriums between 250 and 2.500 squares, 50 seminar rooms between 20 and 800 squares 26 000 m2 showrooms. And there are some larger four- or five-star hotels with large capacities. For a city like Nice, that is self-evident and almost superfluous.
Much more I would like to tell 5 small insider tips that are not so obvious, but also exciting for business and congress visitors:
Saint Tropez is known for glamor, lavish parties, stars and as the home of Brigitte Bardot. Right next to the gendarmerie made famous by Louis de Funnes is the luxurious Hotel de Paris, which can also be booked for meetings and events.
Saint-Tropez is located on the Côte d'Azur, at the eastern foot of the Massif des Maures, on the north bank of a peninsula. The then Fischerdorf moved towards the end of the 19. Century artists such as Paul Signac, Henri Matisse and Pierre Bonnard, whose works are exhibited today in the Musée de l'Annonciade, next to the port.
The upswing of Saint-Tropez 'began in the 1950 years, when the place developed into a meeting place for artists and the high society. Saint-Tropez is famous for its large yacht harbor and the Baie de Pampelonne, the largest sand beach in the Côte d'Azur, but mainly located on the territory of the neighboring municipality of Ramatuelle.
Many prominent Europeans spend their holidays in Saint-Tropez, including Tahiti Plage, Club 55, Nikki Beach and Aqua Club, once again part of Ramatuelle. The many wealthy travelers in Saint-Tropez are numerous expensive restaurants and boutiques available - for example, the excellent restaurant of the Hotel de Paris.
The town is dominated by a citadel (“La Citadelle”), built in 1592, with a view of the city. It houses a museum of maritime and local history. Saint-Tropez has only 4402 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2013), but there are about five million visitors over the year.
In Germany, Saint-Tropez is known mainly by Gunter Sachs and Brigitte Bardot as well as by the gendarmerie films with Louis de Funès.
Located next to this Gendamerie de Saint Tropez is the modern Hotel de Paris. This design hotel was designed by the local architect François Vieillecroze and reopened 2012. its history goes back to the year 1928: Regular guests at the historic Hotel de Paris included Clark Gable, Juliette Gréco, Boris Vian, Jean-Paul Sartre, Audrey Hepburn, Charles Aznavour and Princess Grazia of Monaco.
The hotel boasts state-of-the-art 90 rooms and state-of-the-art suites, two restaurants and bars with great food, and three state-of-the-art meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 350 guests. The cool design is consistently in black, white and pink, the skylight plays an important role in architecture.
A highlight is the roof top terrace with a roof-top swimming pool with 360 ° and a restaurant with an unfortunately slightly overlooked view of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. This is the breakfast, but the location can also be rented for special events such as product presentations.
This shows the advantage of an exclusive location like Saint-Tropez: The staff is theoretically used to crazy requests - at least this is the hotel's claim. However, the service is still a little behind this promise in some places.
The hotel also has a fitness room and spa and organizes all kinds of excursions: There is a shuttle service to the beach, where you can go surfing, kiting and other water sports. Cycling tours, taking part in the olive harvest, sailing tours, horse rides and playing golf are also possible. Saint Tropez is 90 minutes from Nice International Airport. The hotel enables transfers by helicopter or speed boat. Arrival by train is only possible up to Saint-Raphaël with a TGV station, which is 30 km away.
The Côte d'Azur is known for luxury and glamor or as a film set for James Bond. What many do not know: It is also ideal for Teambuilding– and outdoor events.
The rock wall at Cap Drumont is steep, but fortunately not slippery. Nevertheless, each handle must be seated. Bit by bit, we hike from rock formation to rock formation, always searching for cracks and projections, to hold on to it or stop our feet briefly.
It is important not to loosen both hooks at the same time and always pay attention to the climbers: You help each other by showing the following the best way or by shaking hands. And by protecting the predecessor too. Everyone is one when climbing Team and that's exactly what it is Objective: Because we do team building.
This is exactly what works particularly well in the region around the small coastal town of Saint-Raphaël, in the Var department: "We specialize in a wide range of team-building activities, from biking and hiking to climbing and sailing and yachting," explains Alexandra Sauvaigo by the Tourist Board Estérel - Côte d'Azur. One of the main organizers on site is the Company Sudconcept with a wide range of activities.
However, hardly any other activity is as suitable for team building as sailing tours, where everyone literally pulls together. Team building organizer Team Yachting offers sailing for companies in different variants and brings skippers together with corporate customers: from corporate regattas with large or small boats to multi-day corporate sailing tours on a large catamaran; Trust and networking are essential characteristics.
That's what they grab Founders Romain Lépine and Géraud Le Roux on one Network from around 40 skippers who can be deployed at different locations as required. “We see ourselves as the interface between the skippers and the company”, explains the commercial director Romain Lépine and clarifies: “We therefore ensure that the companies get the right skipper and that everything works smoothly on board. Because here meet in the Communication Worlds on top of each other. "
What makes the Var region so special, however, is the unspoilt nature - for example, in the Esterel mountains of red rocks. With the eBike even I can make it in two hours up to the mountain and down again, the view of the cliffs and the surrounding mountain region is fantastic.
Great is the ride with a boogie along the steep coast. The picturesque, wild-romantic coastal road between Cannes and Saint-Raphaël is a famous film scene, for example, scenes were also filmed here for the James Bond film Specre.
This is exactly what distinguishes the Var from other, much more well-known regions on the Cote d'Azur. Of course, physical pleasures are also taken care of: You can eat well and not too expensive, for example, in the alternative-looking Le Mugs or in the Tiki beach bar, right after you come from surfing. Inexpensive and yet good places to stay in the very centrally located Hotel Excelsior. The Saint Raphaël Congress center is available for conferences.
So it turns out that the Cote d'Azur also offers exciting locations for corporate events with outdoor and team building components that go beyond all clichés. You don't have to do without a few amenities.
The village of Cagnes-sur-Mer offers the charm of a medieval, Provencal village close to the city center. For conferences, the Hotel Le Cagnard is available.
The hotel is one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. It is located in a building from the 13. Century and is part of the historic city wall of the medieval village of Haute-de-Cagnes.
2011 was sold to Swedish investors and completely renovated. Emile Wéry's ceiling frescoes and 1928 furniture were restored.
The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, in every nook and cranny you jump Art and against culture. The view of the sea and Cap d'Antibes, which you have from the terrace and garden and from the rooms, is great.
An absolute unicum is the ceiling of the restaurant: it opens and gives you the feeling of dining under a blue sky. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed during my visit - the breakfast is definitely recommendable.
The 28 rooms and suites feature classic restored Provencal furniture Style equipped and have their very own charm and Character. Each room is dedicated to an artistic personality who has already visited the old fortress of Cagnes, the “Montmartre of the Côte d'Azur”.
Some of the suites are located in other buildings nearby. The prices start at 150 Euro per night, but can also be 800 Euro per Suite and night in the high season, for example to the Grand Prix of Monaco.
For meetings and seminars there are three rooms for up to 25 persons: the Piano Lounge with 20 m², the Suite Picasso with 25 m² and the Guard Room with 45 m².
The price is from 53 Euro per person / half day. WiFi, screens, projectors and flip chart are included in the price, sound can be booked on request.
Overall, a great location, due to its proximity to the airport and to the cities of Nice and Cannes. A walk in the picturesque village with the medieval village square and traditional small bars is definitely recommendable. On request, the hotel also organizes trips to the hinterland for its groups.
Château Le Cagnard is located 2,5 km from the sea and 7 km from Saint-Paul de Vence, while Nice airport is 10 minutes drive. However, it is not recommended to drive in the narrow streets with your own car or even a bus: On request, guests and luggage but picked up at the airport.
