Not only the job bloggers are from the new OttoRecruiting-Video enthusiastic: Here you can upload your own picture and some scenes from Executive-Perspektive experience. The shortcoming: As Ms. come the stupid! At least at first glance (see addendum below).

Established roll pattern in an innovative robe

My first reaction was: I'm simple as a woman insulted – because I also want to play boss for a day! For other women it would probably be sexist for the boss to look at the secretary's butt. I find the video discriminatory in a completely different way: As a woman, I just can't use it - at least not without feeling like a lesbian. And now?

I admit: I'm just insulted as a woman - because I also want to play boss for a day! For other ladies, it would probably be sexist that the head of the secretary looks at the buttocks. I find the video discriminating in a very different way: As a woman, I just can not use that - at least not without feeling like a lesbian. And now?

One or the other may find this exaggerated. I, on the other hand, think the video says a lot about the understanding of roles in ours Society from: The boss is of course a man - basta! Only: Will Otto male Candidates as potential Executives - because that's obviously what it's all about - winning? Or do you assume that the female offspring also feels addressed by the video?

Apparently nobody noticed either: my blogger colleagues from Wollmilchsau, Basic Thinking or JOBlog are all enthusiastic about the innovative Idea, the technical design, the excellent image quality (more information on the respective blogs..) Free. I also thought the idea was great. Just try it yourself - I don't really have the time to do that Lust. Because... I said it above...

reasons

I'm assuming that no one intentionally wanted to discriminate against women. They probably just assumed the obvious. Bosses are usually men and maybe you just didn't think ahead. Maybe the budget wasn't enough to provide a separate video for each target group draw up. Because if you take it exactly - you would need another one for homosexuals of both sexes - right?

Something else may have played a role: The male role models know MAN and WIFE - and you can confidently synonymous with sexist-self-ironic allusions to the shovel. For women, however, the uncertainty is great - and that begins with the opening sequence in the video: Which woman would be welcomed so?

Female role images desperately sought

The woman as a boss is still an unknown entity for many. This may be because women in the job are commonly advised to be particularly unfeminine - which means that some successful women in the career of an asexual being in which no one would even remotely think of eroticism.

That's exactly what it likes Problem with the video, which deliberately plays with erotic clichés: How should one imagine a female boss there? Like Miss Rottenmeyer with her severe hairdo and horn-rimmed glasses? Or just a modern one Boy Woman?

Women do not do something like that!

Personally, I would have wished for a Samantha Jones variant alla Sex and the City: In an episode of the infamous series, the lady puts her 20 year younger Employees flat on the desk right after she fired him moments before.

Of course not :-) But why isn't a female boss in the Otto video allowed to delight in a well-built surfer guy who brings her documents and coffee and gaws at him when he walks out? Probably because too many decision-makers haven't seen Sex in the City and don't know that women do it too ...

In this respect, the Otto video, celebrated as innovative, is also a sign that, when it comes to emancipation, there is still a lot to be done in 2010. Or what do you mean?

Addendum:

As Tobias Spörer just told me via Twitter, there is also a women's version, such as here by O2 employee Eveline Hauptkorn, which can be used on the side also.

In this respect, the above contribution is of course superfluous, but perhaps one or other interesting discussion comes into being, so I let him stand for the first time.

Because unfortunately the intro on the Otto page only shows “Show your friends who the: Boss is ”- no reference to the female version. Since the page then no longer loads for me, I had no chance to discover the women's version. Maybe other users have similar problems - and a similar thought, as Eveline Hauptkorn also known:

So sorry for that – but maybe more clear on that I aufmerksam to avoid such misunderstandings.
