It seems as if job boards in spite of all prophecies of doom, not to be killed - at least if you follow Gerhard Kenk, since October 2008 in his Crosspro Research user survey job boards and Jobsuchmaschinen subject to a long-term test of users - and now submits interim results again.
Objective his project is to use a Online- Survey among job seekers to collect their assessments, preferences and ratings from job exchanges and job search engines. It should also be determined which Features and areas of use that job seekers value.
The survey was initiated in October 2008 and is a long-term survey to identify trends in the Recruiting- Identify preferences. The online survey is carried out as a joint project by PROFILO Rating-Agentur GmbH and Crosswater Systems Ltd. carried out. Last year we already reported on the best job exchanges_
In the meantime, I have also published on the subject in the specialist journal “Personal im Fokus”: As HR find the right job market
As of December 31.12.2012, 20.000, the following analysis was carried out on the basis of almost XNUMX reviews, the fluctuations in the satisfaction ranking of the
Jobseekers listed. Who are the current climbers, relegators and newcomers?
With the generalists, the general job exchanges, which offer job offers for all branches, all professions or all regions, some job exchanges have succeeded in making further progress in the user satisfaction rating.
Gigajobs.de improved in the year 2012 compared to the same period last year by 0,21 scale points (on a satisfaction scale from 1 = very good to 4 = not good at all).
The job exchange of the employment agency also gained ground and increased its satisfaction rating by 0,14 scale points, just ahead of the job exchange Jobs.de, which rose by 0,13 scale points.
At the niche job boards that focus on specific industries and professions focus, Absolventa and Hotelcareer have made the greatest progress in user rating.
Among the job search machines, the all-rounders of digital recruitment, Kimeta.de and iCjobs.de are judged with most user evaluations over the past years. In the year 2012, iCjobs.de was able to expand the user satisfaction just by 0,05.
"The trend towards new job exchanges is still going strong," says Kenk. From my experience, I can only confirm this if I consider the large mass of PR inquiries, requests for links and the like. One should think that there will soon be nothing left on the job exchange market.
"Right," says Kenk, "because the newcomers are not only fighting for the job advertisement budgets of employers, but also for visitor traffic and awareness among job seekers."
In this difficult business environment, some newcomers scored points in terms of user satisfaction in 2012. These include the T5 job exchange in the field of scientific and technical specialists and executives, Yourfirm for specialists and Executives des Mittelstands or Ictjob im IT-Sector.
The search quality and the hit lists generated also play an important role in the judgment of job seekers - the accuracy of job descriptions, hierarchical levels or the geographical area search are particularly important. In 2012, the search quality improved for all three job portal categories.
The losers, however, still include the voluntary job boards - as in the results of the survey last year. Overall, they show the least improvement of 2,09 on 2,08.
In contrast, the special job markets improved on average from 2,02 to 1,93. Users of job search engines attest to this genus above average search quality.
