1. Leonettes – design for women on business trips: Leonardo Hotels
I find the one that has existed since 2021 particularly exciting Concept the "Leonettes" of the Leonardo Hotels, which tie thematically to the former women-friendly rooms, which were introduced in 2009 with the Brand LeonardoRoyal were launched in Germany.
Leonardo sees his concept as a new understanding of diversity: A room concept specially designed for the traveling businesswoman, the clear, modern, light and feminine, appropriately colored with light and design. It is very practical about the individual needs of working women and to offer them a place of retreat and work at the same time.
A study commissioned by Leonardo Hotels shows that safety, cleanliness, well-being, comfort and an attractive location for public transport are among the most important criteria for women on the move when choosing hotel rooms. Accordingly, all Leonettes rooms are equipped with a door viewer and security lock, room service is provided exclusively by Leonardo employees. In addition, the rooms have good lighting, especially in the bathroom, various beauty and cosmetic utensils, king-size beds and a large work area.
Of course, the corresponding hotels also have a classic conference area. The Leonettes celebrated their premiere with the opening of the new Leonardo Royal Nuremberg on June 10, 2021, followed shortly afterwards as the Leonette location by the Leonardo Hotel on Alexanderplatz in Berlin. Other Leonettes locations are the Leonardo Royal brand stores in Germany, Italy and Poland, including in Baden-Baden, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Cologne, Mannheim, Munich, Ulm, Mestre-Venice and Warsaw. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to see the rooms in person.
2. A Rococo castle for Catherine the Great: Lübeck crowns
The Lübeck Krönchen was already used by powerful women on business trips in the 18th century and is still ideal for women today due to its facilities. The rococo castle, which is now in the middle of Lübeck's industrial area, was built in 1756 as Bellevue Palace on behalf of Hieronumus Küsel. The building was originally a summer residence at the gates of the nearby old town. At the time, guests, including Katharina the Great, crossed a park to get to the castle via the Trave.
Today the listed building is surrounded by factories that are gradually becoming a trendy neighborhood. It was surprising to see that a region that I identified primarily as a family holiday destination with beach chairs and bad weather seems to be slowly becoming hip: especially in Lübeck itself, whose industrial district is increasingly attracting cultural activities of all kinds.
This is exactly what the owners of the Lübecker Krönchen, Annett and Peter Ganswindt, take advantage of: They have converted the hotel into a small island of tranquility with a lot of effort and various conditions - in fact, you hardly hear anything from the sometimes quite noisy surroundings . The hotel, which opened a few weeks ago, even has a wellness area and a beautiful pool, a rarity in such a small hotel.
The hotel has six lovingly furnished rooms, each with a different theme, including linen curtains, Jocelyn wallpaper, handcrafted furniture and antique finds. Seminars with around six participants or intensive coaching can also be held in the largest room under the roof - the couple Ganswindt previously operated a conference hotel and have 15 years of experience in this area. For larger events, the Lübecker Krönchen cooperates with a nearby cafe. The prices are in view of the Performance moderate: You can book one of the lovingly furnished rooms from 105 euros.
3. Business Out of Africa: Linder Park Hotel Hagenbeck Hamburg
Anyone who has always dreamed of living like Danish writer Tanja Blixen in Out of Africa will get at least a glimpse of it at the Linder Park-Hotel Hagenbeck. In the first animal park themed hotel Welt the traveler experiences an expedition through three continents on five floors. The journey already begins in the lobby area, which picks up on the colonial style of the 19th century.
By ship - the lift is designed like a ship's cabin - you continue to Africa to the first and second floor. The rooms there are in African Style furnished. The Asia floors take up colors and materials from the Far Eastern cultural area. The Arctic is a unique fitness and wellness area on the fifth floor, which is based on Scandinavian wooden architecture and offers three different saunas and a spacious, stylish relaxation area.
For the Implementation The hotel received the European award for “Hotel Property of the Year 2009” thanks to the concept of a trip around the world. Background of this unusual design: The house is located directly at Hamburg's famous Hagenbeck Zoo with polar sea and tropical aquarium and appeals to business travellers, conference guests, event visitors and families alike.
158 air-conditioned rooms on 5 themed floors, including 12 family rooms, 34 rooms with connecting doors, 4 barrier-free rooms and 7 suites, all equipped with modern technology and comfort are available. There is a coworking area for business travelers. The location halfway between the airport and the main train station with good connections to the underground line 2 is also practical in this context.
Five air-conditioned rooms and two conference suites, all with daylight and ranging in size from 51 to 250 square meters, are available for events. The ballroom with a 7 meter high ceiling is outstanding. The event rooms with capacities for up to 220 people are also equipped with the latest conference, information and media technology. In addition, terraces are available for receptions and coffee breaks.
4. Stylish, exclusive meetings in the cultural landscape of the Rheingau: Nägler´s Fine Lounge Hotel, Oestrich-Winkel
The Nägler's Fine Lounge Hotel is located directly in the romantic Rheingau, not far from the business city of Frankfurt. Its clear, stylish design should appeal to many women. The hotel meets the highest demands on a total area of over 3000 square meters: The 41 tasteful rooms, furnished with lots of wood, all have a small Workplace, a tea and coffee station, kettle and minibar. A really great facility where you feel very comfortable. In addition, you can use the comfortable and centrally The hotel is an excellent starting point for all kinds of activities in the Rheingau.
In addition, the hotel offers a spacious lounge and the cabinet room, which are also available for smaller events and private meetings for up to 15 people. For relaxation, there are also cozy seating areas, a terrace with a view of the Rhine and a sauna area with a wide range of loungers and cozy corners. You won't find a restaurant as the hotel only offers its guests breakfast. The hotel therefore uses a catering service for meetings.
The conference level on the first floor with direct access to the inner courtyard is always available for conferences. Here, up to 100 people can work undisturbed in a row of chairs on approx. 161 square meters. The direi rooms can be flexibly connected to one room thanks to soundproofed and mobile partition walls. In addition, there is of course very good WiFi. Since 2020 the Nägler's has been one of the best conference hotels in Germany and is a certified member of the top 250 conference hotels. The Atrium Hotel Mainz, the largest owner-managed private hotel in Rhineland-Palatinate and the Rhine-Main region, is available as a partner hotel for larger conferences.
The possibilities for excursions and activities in the region are varied, hiking, cycling, water sports or even culture are possible. The very beautiful Vollrads Castle is located in the vineyard directly above Östrich-Winkel. A trip to Eltville and the famous Eberbach Monastery, where the film “The Name of the Rose” with Sean Connery was filmed, is also recommended. As a certified quality host for Wanderables Germany, the Nägler's is very familiar with all the requirements that hiking guests have. With special service and tested quality, your hiking holiday will be perfect here.
My absolute highlight, however, was floating with the Rüdesheim cable car in a small private gondola over the vineyards to the Niederwald monument and enjoying the wonderful view of Bingen and the Rhine from up here - an activity that is also ideal for groups .
5. Culinary & design meetings in the Ore Mountains: Logis-Hotel Auberge Mistral
Dresden's immediate surroundings also impress with extraordinary locations with culinary offerings and a special facility. Something in Freiberg in the Ore Mountains.
The city of Freiberg impresses with its cathedral, historic old town and University – the latter also repeatedly necessitates numerous international conferences. There are also numerous outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, water sports and winter sports. But not only.
The Auberge Mistral on the outskirts of the city center, which belongs to the Logis hotel cooperation, is recommended here, mainly because of the excellent French gourmet restaurant. The small hotel, which is not only based on France in the name, has 9 very individually furnished rooms with prices between 89 and 135 euros. The three modern equipped seminar and Meeting-Rooms with space for up to 60 people are in the neighboring house, and the fireplace room can also be rented for up to 15 people.
